The charismatic Jordi Savall leads us through a journey towards distant lands, showing how early music is alive and present as ever. Prince Dimitrie Cantemir lived in Istanbul between the 17th and 18th century, being a refined philosopher and writer, authour of the Book of Science of Music. The instrumental music of the late Ottoman empire are dialoguing with the Sephardic and Armenian oral traditions of those communities welcomed in Istanbul or Smirne, after their expulsion from Spain. A fascinating concert and dialogue among different cultures and religions, that can still teach us something today.
