The programme magnifies one of the most celebrated repertoire of Baroque instrumentalism, that of the concerto grosso, codified by Arcangelo Corelli and followed later by Geminiani, Avison and many other composers. The young ensemble Gli Animosi del Monteverdi, founded within the Conservatoire of Cremona, and led by Marco Pedrona, engages virtuoso-playing and charm, in an explosion of energy and dynamic contrasts.
