The tarantella is a lively folk dance originated in South Italy in the ancient rites of the tarantismo, a mental disorder popularly thought to be caused by the bite of a tarantula. From the Middle-Ages onwards, philosophers, alchemists and musicians were fascinated by this legendary tradition. Enjoy a drumming and dancing Sunday morning with Ensemble Terra d’Otranto.
