Winner of the renowned international Bruges competition, the young Italian harpsichordist Andrea Buccarella performs the Goldberg Variations, a timeless masterpiece of the keyboard repertoire. Commissioned to Bach by a Russian count suffering insomnia, the Goldberg Variations are – in the words of Glenn Gould – music without a beginning and an end, gushed from an unconscious design with a powerful creative force.
